Introduction

The Women Cell of C.K.B. College, Teok was established in 2004. The founder President of the Cell was Mrs. Bonti Borah, the senior most female faculty member of the college and secretary was Mrs. Deepanjali Goswami and treasurer was Mrs. Karabi Dutta. Initially, the Cell was formed under the Women's Studies Cell of Dibrugarh University. In 2017, the Women Cell was reconstituted by the Principal of the college, Dr. Bijoy Krishna Pachani. Again, in 2018, the Women Cell was reorganized under the Assam College Teachers’ Association. The Cell has been performing various kinds of activities for local women since its inception. The main thrust has been to raise awareness on gender equality issues and to enable women to pursue their work with dignity and reassurance.

Vision: To empower women in all spheres of life enabling them to become agents of social and economic change and inculcate ethical values for the betterment of self, family and society.

Mission:

•         To train women to acquire a wide range of skills and knowledge, to develop and increase  their  social, economic and intellectual capacities.
•          To eliminate deep rooted beliefs of gender bias and discrimination.
•         To sensitize the women students of college & society about nutrition, health, hygiene.
•          To impart knowledge on legal rights of women.
•           To conduct guest lectures by eminent persons from different fields.
•           To organise workshops on personality development.
•           To promote general well being of students in the college.
•        To provide guidance on academic and other spheres of life
