Introduction:

On February 23, 2024, the Department of Sociology at CKB College, Teok organized an educational tour to  Bosco Institute in Jorhat. The purpose of the tour was to provide students with practical exposure to the field of sociology and to enhance their understanding of various sociological concepts through real-world observations and interactions.

Participants:

The tour was attended by 14 students from BA 6th  semester of the sociology department, along with one  faculty member.

Itinerary:

·         Departure from CKB College, Teok: [time- 9:30 am]

·         Arrival at Don Bosco Institute, Jorhat: [time-11-30 am]

·         Welcome and Introduction session: [Time -11-45 am ]

·         Guided Tour of Facilities: [time- 12:00noon ]

·         Interactive Sessions with Faculty: [time- 12:15 pm ]

·         Lunch Break: [time- 1:00 pm ]

·         Workshops and Demonstrations: [time 1:15 pm ]

·         Departure from Don Bosco Institute: [time -3:00 pm ]

·         Arrival back at CKB College, Teok: [time 4: 30 pm ]

Activities and Highlights:

·         Welcome and Introduction Session:

The tour commenced with a warm welcome from the faculty members of Don Bosco Institute, followed by an introductory session where students were briefed about the institute's history, mission, and various academic programs offered.

·         Guided Tour of Facilities:

 Students were given a comprehensive tour of the institute's facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, library, and recreational areas. This provided them with insights into the infrastructure and resources available for academic and extracurricular activities.

·         Interactive Sessions with Faculty:

Students had the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions with faculty members from the sociology department. They discussed various sociological topics, current research projects, and career prospects in the field of sociology.

·         Workshops and Demonstrations:

The institute organized workshops and demonstrations on topics relevant to sociology, such as community development, social research methods, and cultural diversity. Students actively participated in these sessions, gaining practical knowledge and skills.
