The Department of History, C.K.B. College, Teok, honored the legacy of Dr. Ranjit Ranjan Saikia by organizing the Third Dr. Ranjit Ranjan Saikia Memorial Lecture on the theme "History As A Discipline: In Retrospect and Prospect". Renowned historian Dr. Rajib Handique, currently serving as the Head of the Department of History at Gauhati University, delivered the lecture, providing valuable insights into the evolution and future trajectory of historical studies. This prestigious event also served as a platform to recognize academic excellence, as Priyashee Bharali from the Batch 2020-2023 was awarded the esteemed Dr. Ranjit Ranjan Saikia Memorial Award of Scholarship for achieving the highest CGPA among her classmates at the college. The lecture attracted a diverse audience, with a total of 142 students, faculty members from six colleges, and representatives from three schools in Jorhat and Sibsagar Districts, along with esteemed guests from Jogduar and Teok areas. The presence of such a wide-ranging audience underscores the significance and impact of Dr. Saikia's contributions to the field of history, as well as the enduring importance of historical scholarship in shaping our understanding of the past and its implications for the future.
