Scholarly Lecture on ‘Petroleum Price Hike and Its Impact on Everyday Life’ The resource person of the talk was Dr. Binoy Brot Rajkhowa , IQAC Coordinator and the associate professor in the department of economics of the C.K.B College,Teok .Dr.Rajkhowa very succinctly elaborated about the present state of the world economy vis a vis the Indian economy and how the exclusive dependence upon the import of the petroleum goods from the oil rich middle eastern nations had put a great negative impact upon the developing economies like India . He has rightly stressed upon the complexities of the oil diplomacy that has been controlled by the superpowers like the United States of America and other Western nations. Although , oil exploration has been going on in some of the Indian states like Assam ,Maharastra , Tripura but it has not been sufficient to fill up the void. The import of the petroleum goods has contributed to the deficit budget form and that has made the price hike in using of the everyday necessities .
