A Popular Talk on ‘How to do historical research at undergraduate level of study' was organised by the Department of History, C.K.B. College, Teok on the month of September, 2019. The speaker of this talk was Dr. Tridip Kr. Mahanta, Sibsagar College, Joysagar. He spoke broadly on the theme and enlightened the students with many unknown facts.Dr. Mahanta at first tried to clarify the meaning of research and historical research in particular and how the methodology is needed in order to do a systematic research .He presented his thought regarding the basic principles of historical research , methodology , forms of survey of existing literature , the referencing styles ,working on the goal, objectives ,scope ,hypothesis etc. in the process of research outcome .
