A Combined Departmental Research Project on the topic 'A Study of the Historical Monuments of Kaliapani Development Block (Jorhat)' was submitted by the Department of History and Department of Assamese, C.K.B. College, Teok. The research project on the study of the ancient remains in the Kaliapani Development had been initiated with the support from the Department of Assamese and our chief objective of research to know about the exact location and present conditions of those remains . We observed that there are some important remains of the medieval phase of the history of Assam but due to lack of consciousness among the people in the vicinity of those monuments ,the destruction has been made to those remains . The governmental or the non-governmental support in regard to those things particularly in preserving the heritage of those historical sites have not been forthcoming .
