A Field Trip to Sivasagar and Charaideo

A Field Trip to Sivasagar and Charaideo was organised by the Department of History, C.K.B. College, Teok on the month of February 2021. A total number of 35 students participated in this field trip. Through this trip, the students were able to witness the historical sites like Dols (Near Joysagar Tank), Charaideo Ahom Maidam and Kareng Ghar which is situated in the former Ahom capital of Garhgaon. The three places have the unique distinction in the medieval heritage of Assam because the political ,socio-cultural activities around those historical sites helped in giving a proper shape to the identity of the Assamese people as the continuous journey of the people of Assam to defend their territorial integrity against the mighty powers like the Mughal empire and how a nationality was formed although in an incipient form rather in colonial role it took a matured form of development.
