First Dr. Ranjit Ranjan Saikia Memorial Lecture on ‘Tools, Technology and Social Formation during Ahom rule in Assam’ organised by the Department of History, C.K.B. College, Teok on the month of January, 2021. Dr. Ranjit Ranjan Saikia was a former Head, Department of History and was also the former coordinator of IQAC, C.K.B. College Teok. The speaker of this lecture was Prof. Nirode Baruah who is a Chair Professor, Siu-ka-Pha Chair, Department of History and Dean of Student Affairs, Dibrugarh University. He beautifully brought out the subject and enlightened the students of the department with many unknown facts.

Prof. Baruah particularly stressed upon the feudal agrarian structure of the Medieval Assam where certain limitation in respect of technological improvements actually hindered in the full fledged utilisation of the resources for furthering manufacturing activities and merchandise.
