Team Teaching on 'Sankardeva and the growth of Neo-Vaishnavism in Assam’

A Team Teaching on 'Sankardeva and the growth of Neo-Vaishnavism in Assam’ was organised by the Department of History, C.K.B. College, Teok on the month of October, 2019. The chief tutors of the team teaching were Dr. Bijoy Krishna Pachani, Principal, C.K.B. College, Teok, Dr. Moushumi Rekha Khound, S.P.P. College, Namti, Sibsagar and Dr. Bikash Nath, C.K.B. College, Teok. The three speakers gave  illuminating and thought provoking lectures regarding the contributions made by the brilliant personality of the neo-vaishnavite faith who was none other than Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva and his disciples like Sri sri Madhavadeva .They were instrumental in removing social ills of that period through the integration of the devotion to the one God with the clearing the mind of the devotee from all forms of violence and hatredness towards each other and in the realm of vaishanava kirtana -shravana there is no place of prejudicial attitude in terms of caste or varna to the lower classes .
