The Department of English, C.K.B. College organised A Film Screening on Partition Literature on the 31st May  2022 for the students of the English Department comprising 2nd, 4th and 6th semester. Khuswant Singh’s Train to Pakistan (1998) directed by Pamela Rooks was screened. Total number of 16 students participated in the programme.

The objective of the programme was to help the students understand the Partition and the aftermath which is prescribed in their DSE 7 syllabus. The students also learn the appreciation of  Film adaptation. Through this programme the students got a first hand knowledge on experiences of Partition; through the use of moving pictures the students learned ideas, stories, perception, feelings, beauty or atmosphere that is otherwise not experienced in text. 

After the screening, there was a group discussion among the students on “The Cinematography of the movie Train to Pakistan”. They were then asked to write a review on the movie. Overall, the programme was a fruitful experience for the students.
