The department of Economics organized a student workshop cum seminar on " Research Methodology and Skill Development and development issues of NE India" under UGC Competence Building Initiatives. Dr. B.K.  Pachani , principal, CKB College Teok inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Soumitra Pujari, Associate prof. department of History ,Jorhat college was the resource person of the workshop. Total 54 numbers of students took part in this workshop in which Dr B.B. Rajkhowa delivered his welcome address .The co-ordinator of the workshop Mr. Robin Saikia offered vote of thanks.

The basic objectives of the workshop were as follows-

1. To aware the students of under graduate classes about research methodology.

2. To enhance the capacity of the students to undertake research projects and writing on research papers and articles.

3. To develop the report writing skills of the students.

4. To aware the students about the different skill development programmes initiated by Govt. of India and Assam particularly in NE India.

OUTCOME-

            The programme left an lasting imprint among the students in the field of  research methodology as well as report writing skills. Most of the participants  were enlightened and introduced to the different skill development programmes initiated by Govt of India and Assam  in the NE region particularly in Assam.
