The department of Economics organized a socio-economic survey at Janjhimukh area of Jorhat district on 24-10-2019 to study and analyze the socio-economic life of the Mishing community lived in three selected villages- Majorchapori, Japong Gaon and Kaman Gaon. All the faculty members and all the students of the department participated in this survey.

OBJECTIVE -

1.To study the economic life of the Mishing people lived in these  villages.

2.To study the socio- cultural life of the Mishing community.

3.To study about the political awareness, domestic violence and women empowerment among the localities.

4. To prepare a report of this survey.

 OUTCOME-

                 A report was prepared on the basis of the primary data collected from the sample households with the help of questionnaire. The report reflected the living status, health conditions, demographic behaviour and overall quality of population belonging in this locality.
