Report on Training on E-Filing of Income Tax Return using XML Software

A training program on E-Filing of Income Tax Return using XML Software was organized to train the students of B.Com 3^rd Semester (CBCS) as a partial fulfilment of their course curriculum in the subject of Income Tax Law and Practice. The program started from 2^nd March, 2021 to 6^th March, 2021. The trainers of the program were Dr. Debananda Boruah, Asso. Professor and Dr. Abhijit Bhuyan, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce, C.K.B. College, Teok. A total of 27 students participated in the training program. The resource persons covered the theoretical and practical sides of the income tax return wherein the total income, taxable income along with the amount of tax payable and surcharge (Education Cess) was included. All the Deductions, Exemptions, Rebates and Reliefs were also the part of the Return. They inculcated the practical knowledge amongst the students as to how that information is filled up electronically in the Digital Form as per the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Income Tax Rules and Directives passed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) as approved by the Finance Commission time to time.
