Medical Cell

About Medical Cell:-

Medical Cell is a voluntary unit of the college which plays an active role on the issues related to the health, sanitation and well being of the students in particular and the neighboring community in general. The Cell primarily focuses on the health of the student community and puts emphasis on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene of the college as a whole.

Objectives

v  To organize Seminars and Workshops concerning health, hygiene and sanitation.

v  To conduct Free Health check-up and Blood Donation Camps at college campus as well as nurtured villages of the college.

v  To provide First-Aid facilities

v  To assist in maintaining the cleanliness in the college campus and its surroundings

v  To promote hygienic lifestyles amongst the students.

v  To make aware about the importance of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

v  To encourage the students to take up leading role and responsibilities for community services.

v   To organize awareness programs for better sanitation practices like using the toilet, hand washing, health and hygiene awareness, and garbage disposal, etc.

Vision

The Cell aims to bring the college to a level of commanding height which will be recognized as the symbol of eco friendly, bio degradable and a highly hygienic unit that could be a role model for the society at large. 

Mission

The Cell aims to increase the knowledge and ideas about the concept of health and sanitation issues affecting not only the students of the college, but also the people of the surrounding areas. The Cell promotes a hygienic and a healthy lifestyle among the students and the surrounding community by organizing various In-house and  Outreach Programs by means of  Workshops, Seminars, Symposia, etc. and so on. In this regard, the Cell collaborates with different NGOs, Hospitals and Clubs of the district, undertakes MOUs with Medical Practitioners and organizes various camps such as Free Health Camp, First-Aid activities and Blood Donation Camp etc. within and outside the college premises.

The event featured a knowledgeable resource person Dr. Dulumoni Kolita,SDMO ,Bhogamukh BPHC , delivered insightful talk on critical issues like menstrual hygiene.mental health and nutrition to the girls students of 1st,3rd and 5th Semester B A,B.Com of the College.

2019Yoga DayYoga camp under swaccha Bharat Abhijan was organised by Medical Cell, Health and Sanitation cell and NSS Wings of the College on the 12th October 2019,at the College Indoor Stadium. The Instructor of the program was Mr Ranjit Singh from Jorhat Yuwa Kendra, Jorhat. 39 students from both higher secondary and Degree classes Participated in the program. The students at very beginning was taught the first step of Yoga body warming. It was explained that this was necessary before aYoga session, to warm up the muscles,which may be cold or stiff. Basic warm up Exercises were taught to the students-
