About Disaster Management Cell:-
The Disaster Management Cell of the college works for creating awareness among students, local people and the college community in general about the havoc caused by natural and man-made disaster. The cell conducts various training, workshops and awareness programs to prepare students and local communities as well as faculty to meet emergency situations in collaboration with Jorhat District Civil Defence Department, Local NGO. It provides basic training to the students to ensure safety during threatening disaster situations.
The cell has prepared a College Disaster Management Plan (CDMP) to ensure better preparedness and response to disaster.
Aims and Objectives:
♣ To create awareness and build the capacity among students and the college community.
♣ To reduce or avoid the potential losses from hazards, assure prompt and appropriate assistance to victims of disaster and achieve rapid and effective recovery.
♣ Ensuring the availability of local emergency equipment and transportation.
♣ To create awareness about various disaster and its consequences.
♣ To prepare in advance to face such situation.
♣ To organize safety awareness program.
♣ To identify and manage hazards in the college.
